We were so impressed with John Bentley's knowledge of leadership training, energy, and ability to motivate change that we asked him to be the principal in designing and presenting the curriculum used in our new Leadership Institute. Our facility constantly had issues revolving around discharging patients to area nursing homes resulting in an additional 1-2 day stay which were denied days. We assembled a lean team led by Power 2 Transform which focused on identifying ways to facilitate the discharge. Numerous problems were identified during the process, as well as workable solutions. Having a multidisciplinary team of hospital staff (case management, nurses, paramedics, medical records), as well as representation from all area nursing homes helped greatly in accomplishing our goals.
